Founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1903, Sigma Alpha Iota is a professional music fraternity for women. The mission of Sigma Alpha Iota is to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music. There are currently more than 115,000 initiated members of Sigma Alpha Iota, with chapters at over 300 colleges, universities, and conservatories. Sigma Alpha Iota furthers the development of music through SAI Philanthropies, Inc., which provides support and resources to musicians in America and throughout the world.
